When Manny's Happy, Everybody's Happy
Before every getaway game, Manny makes a dugout announcement:
"Let us have a happy flight," he says, and that means we better win, because flights after a loss are no fun. He said it tonight just before the first inning and we're going to have a happy flight home after beating the Cubs again. I'm sure guys will be giddy, because we're going back to Cali with a chance to win this series.
We're an excited team right now, but the clubhouse is probably a little quieter than it was last night. We still have to take care of business. We haven't won anything yet. We've got a flight home and a long day tomorrow with a workout and the next game isn't until Saturday night.
You had to like the way we won tonight. Zambrano stuck it to us in the first inning and the crowd was going absolutely wild and we bounced back and turned the tables in the second inning and completely took the crowd out of the game. It got silent again, like it did last night when James hit the grand slam.
And another thing you had to like was that second inning, we did it without Manny. We can't expect him to do everything every game. The guys were picking each other up and making his job easier. That's just the way we've been playing for the past month and it's why we're in the position we're in.

Well, we definitely didn't miss the second inning, and yes, it definitely was done without Manny. You guys were absolutely incredible tonight once again, with Billz having another amazing game. Have a wonderful day off, and welcome back to Los Angeles. There definitely won't be silence on Saturday. You will even be able to hear us fans up in Nor-Cal cheering for this REMARKABLE Dodger team.

It's good to hear that you're not getting to high with the wins. Dodgers aren't satisfied with a few wins. We win it ALL! However, it won't stop me from congratulating you on an amazing 2 days in Chicago. I like how you guys cashed in your breaks. That's what good teams do. Good teams also come from behind, like you did in Game 1
Keep it up, let's finish 'em Saturday and move on to the next round!

Yup, liked 'em both... ;) As much as we all "love Manny being Manny", I know so many of us fans are so proud of the whole team and so excited for what's to come... I think all of California will hear the roar of that crowd Saturday night...

Congratulations on another exciting win! I can't wait until Saturday when we can welcome our Dodgers back to Dodger Stadium. Great win last night. I too, will be screaming from central California, during your sweep of the Cubs on Saturday. Like I said yesrterday, these two games were a total team effort. Love having Furcal back.......what an added bonus he is. I know Harden is pitching Saturday but, it doesn't matter.Right now you guys can hit anyone. Tell the team how much support they have from all of us at Inside the Dodgers. Best wishes to you Andre and stay relaxed. Also, I really appreciate you taking the time to keep us informed on what it's like being in a playoff setting. One question.......do you have a roommate on the road? And, if so, who is yours?

WELCOME HOME TO L.A. Once again CONGRATULATION TO YOU AND THE BOYS IN BLUE!. You guys did it, L.A. was very very loud last night. TEAM WORK always works, so keep up the great job you guys are doing. Saturday's game will be a tough one, the Cubs will come with all their Energy to win, so put on your best defense and WIN!. PS. Not sure if you remember meeting my boyfriend and I in Old Town Pasadena last season after a Sunday day game at the Apple Store. We met both you and Maggie as you were leaving. After taking one picture, several kids started to notice you were a Dodger, and the madness started. I still have my picture and am very proud and still excited I had the oppurtunity to take the picture with you (the one Dodger I favored)! You were my favorite boy in blue before the picture and even more my favorite now!

You are right about the team. Everyone has collectively peaked in September when in counted and that is translating to some great baseball. All us LA fans agreed last night, that it feels so good that the Dodgers are proving to the baseball world that we are a great team that isn't an easy win against us. All the t.v announcers and newspaper writers who automatically picked the Cubs when they knew the Dodgers would be facing them in round one, now have to rethink how they feel about the Los Angeles Dodger- Western Division Champions!

I will be in the crowd Saturday night to welcome you and the Blue Boys back to Los Angeles. Thanks for two great nights of baseball; the whole family has been glued to the TV and on the edge of our seats with every pitch.

Grats on your guys' dominance in Chi town! 2 Games won in one of the hardest venues in the MLB and now its our turn to show what a REAL home crowd should be like! Give big ups to Russel Martin for the bases clearing double, Raffy for the clutch bunt he laid down, Billingsly showing how its done on the mound, Kemp linning a double down the right to plate one more, Berrora for the nice sky and grab to rob a hit, and just all around great baseball from all you guys! Go get em!

I'm so happy that you guys are doing phenomenal in the postseason. I always watch ESPN or SPORTS CENTER and before the series started they said that you guys are the underdogs in the NLDS series with the Cubs. I don't think you guys were the underdogs at all!
